A journey to selflove

Every body is beautiful. Even if you don't feel so yourself.
This map is a love letter to all the different kind of bodies out there, and is supposed to be read this way. Our map is made with Instagram-video trends in mind, and is made to tell Instagram-users that they have a good body.
In this project we wanted to explore a way to make our body insecurities, a positive thing about ourselves.
All those bodyparts one might feel insecure about, deserve to be complemented.
During a brainstorm session we found that people tend to compare their body to those they see around them, which is a completely normal thing to do. But in our research, we found out that a lot of teenagers and young adults have issues with their body-image because of pictures they see on social media, like Instagram.
People only post the happiest of times and the best pictures of themselves, but this can create a feeling of insecurity and sadness when scrolling through our newsfeed and often results in comparing our true reality to our “friends’” idealized, Instagramed realities.
Hours of scrolling through an app with only perfect, edited bodies can make us insecure about our own body. Especially the parts we don’t often see as conventionally attractive in media.
There are no wrong or ugly bodies.

This map is a journey to read. Everybody goes trough life on a different path. That also means no person is insecure about the same thing.

Introduction
Insecurities
In our research we discovered it seems like most of the things people feel insecure about, are things that can not be helped.
It also seems that most of the things are contradictory. Billie Eillish made a point about this in her video ''not my responsibility''.

These are the parts of one's body that we wanted to compliment.
